The 45th annual Building Safety Month takes place this month. Game On is the theme for this year’s international campaign with initiatives to raise awareness about what it takes to create and maintain safe and sustainable buildings.
The weekly campaigns for Building Safety Month this year include:
- Week One – The Warm Up
- Week Two – Build Your Offense
- Week Three – Build Your Defense
- Week Four – The Starting Lineup
- Week Five – Going Into Overtime
“Optimizing the indoor environment and protecting building occupants from exposure risks are central components of building safety,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “There are numerous exposure risks that are still being found in too many buildings. Some of the more common ones include lead, asbestos, particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and radon. They also include viruses, bacteria, mold, pollen, and other allergens, asthma triggers, and respiratory irritants.”
The building science, industrial hygiene, and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) experts at EMSL Analytical can help building owners and managers create safe indoor spaces. With laboratories across North America, EMSL supports the efforts of Building Safety Month with environmental, material, and infection control laboratory testing services. They also offer sampling supplies, easy-to-use test kits, building inspection tools, air monitoring instruments, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other resources.
