Project Experience: Insulation Testing

The Mississauga Laboratory was requested to test both batt insulation and loose fill insulation to determine the ability to support or resist fungal growth. Filter paper and tongue depressor samples were used as control comparisons. The test used was ASTM C1338, which is a standard test method for determining fungi resistance of insulation materials and facings. The Pass/Fail results were based on growth to comparator as a criterion.
